Corps: An American Thank You (outthink) |
 |
| Rockin'
the Corps is a thank you concert designed
to show appreciation to the Marines and sailors
returning home from Iraq and to the men and
women of the United States Marine Corps. Outthink
donated design services to the non-profit
organization "Support the Corps."
I was the sole designer responsible for this
project. I designed the identity first. The
first logos didn't quite evoke the feeling
they envisioned because they believed there
was too much of a VH1 feeling to them. |
 |
 |
 |
| After approving a logo with
both a strong urban and patriotic feel, the
event date changed from fall of 2004 to April
1, 2005. The "2004" date was dropped
from the event name and the logo was adjusted
to its final form. |
 |
 |
 |
| After the logo was finished
I designed the second and third components:
an invitation and a sales sheet. Both had
to incorporate the urban/patriotic feel that
was established with the logo. |

| The concert was a great success.
The free event was attended by approximately
50,000 active duty military personnel and
their families and broadcast by the Armed
Forces Radio and Television Network to 880,000
servicemen, servicewomen and civilians at
bases world-wide. |
