For the Global Gaming
Expo (G2E) 2006 ads, the client asked that
we trade in the cliché swoosh that
had been done for the past 3+ years for
a globe element. I was asked to somehow
convey "the world of gaming" and
to show that G2E was the center of that
world. In order to avoid making this element
as cliché as the swoosh, I created
dimensional and dynamic grid of imagery
from G2E that showed the world of gaming
and minimized the actual image of the earth.
I also rendered the G2E icon similarly to
the Las Vegas sign (the location of the
event) at the top of the globe to convey
the importance of the event to the industry.
These ad designs set the
tone for the rest of the year's campaign including
the website, email blasts, brochures, posters,
booklets and invitations.
